Recently, Montana Public Radio featured Helena’s Old Salt Co-op and their latest venture — a new restaurant called The Union. The story spotlights the unique model of Old Salt — bringing together local ranchers to give them more of a stake in the marketing and sale of their meat products. One of Old Salt’s principal founders is Cole Mannix from Helmville, who also brought the vision of a food and music festival to life with the Old Salt Festival last year.
