Project Description
WATER
The Blackfoot watershed has experienced drought at least 13 out of the last 19 years. Recurring drought and uncertainty about future water supply have inspired community conversations and actions centered around coordinated water stewardship.
Local landowners, irrigators, anglers, conservation organizations, and state and federal agencies share a commitment to work together through the Blackfoot Drought Response Program. Individual landowners also work to benefit water resources and agricultural production through irrigation water management practices and a growing understanding of soil health. And monitoring the changing conditions of Blackfoot lakes and streams helps all stakeholders to plan future water resource stewardship and restoration priorities. Contact our Water Steward.
